Our client is seeking a Books Cataloguer who is ready to further their career in the auctions industry. The Auction House is one of the few multi-disciplinary salerooms in the UK with a dedicated Books, Maps and Manuscripts Department which holds four very successful specialist sales each year and which attracts a wide range of consignments. Working in conjunction with an experienced Books, Maps and Manuscripts Consultant, this is a rare opportunity for a well organised individual with some existing knowledge of cataloguing books for auction to develop their knowledge and understanding of the industry at one of the UK’s leading regional auctioneers.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised and able to work on their own initiative, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver exceptional customer service. They will also need to be able to communicate confidently at all levels and enjoy dealing with the public at face-to-face valuations.
Working hours will be from 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and salary is negotiable according to experience.
