A contemporary art space in Manhattan, NYC is seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Director to drive the gallery’s growth and presence. The gallery is dedicated to fostering dialogue between artists, audiences, and the broader digital art cultural community.
Position Overview
The Assistant Director will be instrumental in driving the gallery’s success through strategic client acquisition, relationship management, and closure of high-value art transactions. This role requires a proven track record in art market operations, a network of collectors, and the ability to consistently exceed revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the gallery’s collector base, effective client engagement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate clients, and institutions
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships and collaborations
- Lead client negotiations and inventory
- Represent the gallery at art fairs, securing significant deals and new client relationships
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to inform pricing and acquisition strategies
Qualifications:
- Experience in art market roles with a proven track record of sales
- Network of active collectors, art advisors, and institutional buyers
- Knowledge of contemporary art market dynamics and pricing strategies
- Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills
- Strong analytical abilities for market analysis and revenue forecasting
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Business, or related field
