Job description:

A gallery in central London is looking for an experienced, creative and tech-savvy Marketing Director to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Gallery’s entire Marketing and Communications department. Responsibility will include the overall conceptualisation,  planning , development and implementation of the Group’s marketing and communications strategy and initiatives. The successful candidate will guide the Gallery’s overall marketing and communications strategy and cultivate it’s public image to gain market share ,  inspire client and artist confidence, increase audience engagement and increase brand awareness and visibility.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of how best to maximize, utilize, create , implement and distribute relevant content in the most effective way. The successful candidate will manage , direct and co-ordinate the entire Marketing and Communications  team including content, press, PR, advertising  and design. The Marketing Director will ensure the Group’s message is distributed clearly and consistently across the appropriate channels, and to targeted audiences ,in order to meet sales and curatorial objectives. The successful candidate will have a superior understanding of digital platforms as sales channels and have significant experience in digital sales and marketing ( e-commerce). The role will entail co-ordinating group marketing efforts with the Gallery’s financial, curatorial and branding goals.

This is a senior management position and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the Groups overall strategic business objectives and the overall growth of the company.

  • Considerable experience in digital sales and marketing role
  • Experience in a management role, decision making skills
  • Must understand digital as a sales/E-commerce channel
  • Experience in digital sales and marketing for a luxury goods brand preferable
  • Extensive experience with digital advertising and social media platforms, from a planning and execution perspective
  • Hands-on experience with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, HubSpot, WebTrends, SalesForce etc
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced deadline oriented environment
  • Must be customer-centric
  • Must be a strategic thinker
  • In-depth knowledge of big data analysis, research skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly collaborative, creative, data-driven and analytical
  • Must be a natural storyteller – able to communicate clearly, providing instruction to the team
  • Must be sales-focused and results driven
  • Must have business acumen including the importance of evaluating campaigns in terms of Return on Investment (ROI), measuring sales conversion rates, etc
  • Must understand how creative and artistic projects can be converted into sales
  • Must be a strategic thinker
  • Previous experience in the Art industry (preferred but not essential)
  • Appreciation for the arts
