Co-Lead Artist Liaison, Contemporary Gallery

For our client, an established gallery for contemporary art in Berlin, we are looking for an Co-Lead for the Artist Liaison Team. In close coordination with the other Co-Lead and the gallery owners the ideal candidate is responsible for the management of the Artist Liaison team, developing strategies and supporting selected gallery artists and their work.

Responsibilities:

• Co-Lead the Artist Liaison Team of up to ten people
• Liaise with the artists and their studios
• Be the contact person for all external and internal inquiries regarding artists
• Develop, plan and support all exhibitions and projects in the gallery, in institutional contexts and beyond
• Attend institutional exhibitions
• Develop and expand network of museums and institutions
• Regular support of the gallery exhibitions (including Saturdays)

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in leading teams and in personnel development
• Several years of extensive experience working with artists in galleries and institutions at the highest international level
• Studies in art history or comparable, content-related work focus
• Extensive knowledge of current developments in contemporary art and in the international art market
• Strategic way of thinking and working
• Alignment with the gallery’s vision
• Very good written and spoken German and English; other foreign languages are desirable
