Digital Content Manager, Hong Kong

Job description:

An international contemporary gallery is looking for a Digital Content Manager for it’s space in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content/Social media:

  • Manage and grow the gallery‚Äôs WeChat/Weibo/Zaiyi/Tencent accounts, including planning and scheduling posts with global digital team, collating assets, writing/translating copy, posting, monitoring analytics
  • Contribute towards audience development initiatives in Asia with creative ideas for expanding our audience and digital reach
  • Produce regular reports on our digital audience development initiatives in Asia
  • Develop concepts for films focused on gallery content and oversee editing and subtitling process


  • Make ad hoc website updates related to gallery content as necessary
  • Build, approve and send Chinese language emailers in Mailchimp
  • Work with the global communications team to oversee development of a Chinese version of the main website and gallery apps


  • Work with global communications team to plan and implement online ads targeted to Asian audience
  • Act as onsite coordinator for photographers and AV-crews documenting HK events


  • Translate and copy edit texts into Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and English, as required
  • Write ad text in Chinese including Chinese advert copy
  • Proofread Chinese marketing materials, including adverts, emailers and web copy

Personal specification:
We are looking for a driven, flexible, creative and hands-on person who enjoys working in a team within a fast-paced and dynamic environment and has considerable experience in an equivalent role. Meticulous attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in arts or humanities subject (BA required)
  • Good working proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
  • Excellent written skills in Cantonese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English all essential
  • Excellent communication skills, as well as analytical organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Good working knowledge of Final Cut Pro or other film editing software
  • Experience in website development is preferred
  • Excellent skills in Adobe CS5, particularly Photoshop and InDesign (essential), working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Mac OSX
  • Experience of working in an international company is preferred
