Job description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Director to oversee our client’s digital strategy and drive digital growth. The Digital Director will be responsible for developing and implementing digital initiatives across various platforms, including their website, social media channels, and mobile applications. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure their digital strategy aligns with their overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s digital strategy in line with business objectives.
- Analyse data and track performance of digital initiatives to optimize their digital presence and drive growth.
- Manage the company’s digital publishing platform, which includes the CMS, content and user databases, website, mobile apps and paywall, ensuring that it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s brand and working practices as well as the latest tech trends.
- Oversee social media channels, including content strategy and analysis of social media metrics in order to drive reach, brand equity and revenue.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement digital marketing campaigns.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and implement new digital technologies to enhance the company’s digital presence.
- Collaborate with external teams teams to develop digital products and services that align with the company’s overall strategy.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies and platforms.
- Manage the digital budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital media, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in digital marketing or related field.
- Strong understanding and experience with digital marketing concepts, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, mid-funnel engagement, and optimizing e-commerce pages, funnels, and messaging.
- Strong product management skills, including prioritization, planning, and project management.
- Strong background in web and mobile development, including product strategy, integrations, and testing.
- Proven expertise in managing e-commerce platforms, including landing pages, product strategy, integrations, and funnels.
- Proficiency in managing data, including analytical platforms, user data, email lists, and reporting.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve tech problems, from small to big.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of web design principles and web development technologies.
- Experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
- Experience managing platforms for multiple regions and advising on growth, editorial, and tech issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Additional Skills and Expertise:
- Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills to advise editors on how to make content more engaging and discoverable.
- Knowledge of GDPR compliance and experience advising on legal matters related to intellectual property rights transfers.
- Ability to manage services and platforms, including AWS, Vercel, Slack, and Zoom.
- Tech-savvy and able to keep up with new digital technologies and industry trends.
