Job description:

On behalf our client, a sculpture park with three contemporary exhibition spaces, we are looking for a Director of Exhibitions.

This is a key role and will be solely responsible for the artistic programme and for building strong relationships with artists; artists’ estates; and partner galleries and museums globally. The programme should reflect the gallery’s past as well as leading it into the future.

The Director of Exhibitions will be a highly motivated and imaginative individual with outstanding knowledge of twentieth century and contemporary art.

Responsibilities include:

Creative strategy and planning that balances the gallery’s commercial, reputational and philanthropic objectives.

Programme development and implementation:

  • Implementing and augmenting the current and future programme

Building the organisation’s artistic reputation and relationships:

  • Relationships with other commercial galleries and museums for the benefit of the organisation
  • Relationships with artists – both established and emerging
  • Relationships with journalists and other relevant opinion formers

Contribution to the leadership and commercial success of the organisation:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience of managing people.
