Job description:

An international gallery is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Director/Sales Director for their new Paris space. The gallery fosters the artistic inquiry of emerging and established artists and curators internationally, with a focus on practitioners from the Global South. The gallery serves as a platform for artistic discourse and experimentation and champions the work of female artists and curators. In addition to exhibitions which focus on conceptualisation, abstraction, and philosophical inquiry, the gallery offers a critically engaged programme that emphasises contemporaneity and dialogue through talks, performances, and educational initiatives. The gallery also hosts a research programme, inviting artists to create impactful new works that implement research-based and experimental creative processes, ultimately facilitating the exploration and portrayal of nuanced societal experiences and historical narratives.

Fluent French and English are required.

Key Skills:

Ideally, you must have a proven track record of several years experience in a museum or art gallery or art foundation.

  • Great communication and negotiation skills, you must be able to build and maintain relationships as well as enjoy working effectively within a team
  • Knowledge and a genuine interest in contemporary art

Overview:

  • Implementing marketing strategies to boost sales, advertising the gallery and its artists
  • Providing customer service to clients or collectors
  • Collaborating with Dubai team in planning and promoting gallery exhibitions
  • Developing and sustaining client relationships, consulting with executives, updating sales records, and client database.
  • Collaborating with gallery artists on the preparation and planning of exhibitions, as well as planning budgets
  • Working at art fairs and site events
  • Manage day-to day operations
