Our client, a Fine Art Shipping Company, is looking for a Gallery Services Estimator to join the team in London.

The company is the premier fine art handling, shipping and storage company in the UK. They have been involved in handling many of the world’s most prestigious fine art objects and are now the agent of choice for the many national museums, art galleries and private collectors.

Job Purpose

To ensure that estimate requests are dealt with in a timely manner with a view to maximising conversion rates. To follow-up on submitted estimates and to record outcomes. To act as an ambassador for the company in all communications with clients and agents and to sell the company services, including insurance when appropriate. To assist other estimators in the production of estimates as required.

Key tasks:

  • Plan, develop and produce estimates for clients – air/sea/road, import, export and UK. Work out the best solution and options, research possible routings, get detailed info and prices from Technical Services Team, shipping, and suppliers.
  • Plan own daily workload, including monitoring incoming estimates requests in conjunction with other members of the estimating team to ensure all enquiries received are responded to in a timely fashion.
  • Take client enquiries and liaise with clients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Follow up of estimates on regular basis with a view to conversion.
  • General close consultation with Technical Services/Co-ordinators for the capture of an estimate and forward planning the actual job to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Brief Gallery Services co-ordinators on jobs once they are converted.
  • Answer co-ordinators’ questions on pricing/estimating.
  • AMS data entry and Excel work
