Gallery Shipping Assistant, London

We are looking for an experienced individual, as Gallery Shipping Assistant, who can work well under pressure, who has excellent time-management skills and who excels in a team environment. The Gallery Shipping Assistant will work closely with the Head of Logistics to manage artwork movements and oversee the shipping process from start to finish, including sourcing quotes, coordinating with outside vendors, scheduling pick-ups and deliveries, and updating the artwork database. The candidate must be driven, flexible, and have excellent communication and organizational skills to fulfil this role.

Responsibilities include:

• Obtaining shipping quotes for incoming and outgoing artworks
• Generating relevant customs documentation for shippers worldwide
• Coordinating movement of artworks with shippers and storage facilities
• Communicating shipping updates with the principal and the sales team
• Keeping up to date with the current progress of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Assisting with logistical organisation of international art fairs before, during and after
• Working closely with our Head of Logistics to meet all daily shipping requirements

Skills preferred:

• Proven experience in a similar role either in a gallery, museum, fine art shipper or logistics company
• Have knowledge of Import/Export shipping documentation and terminology
• Very high level of organisational and communication skills
• Experience using Artlogic is a benefit
