General Valuer, Regional Auction House

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and ambitious General Valuer to join our client’s team. Previous auction experience and a good general knowledge is desired. Knowledge of ceramics and furniture would be advantageous.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a General Valuer, with the additional specialisms of Furniture and Ceramics being advantageous
• Auctioneering experience would be ideal but is not essential
• Computer literate
• Driving licence and access to a car is essential

Responsibilities include:

• Valuations (including probate & insurance), cataloguing, valuation days, condition reports and securing new business and consignments
• Strong organisational and excellent customer service skills are required, combined with an ambition to develop the department
• Auctioneering experience would be ideal but is not essential

Details:

• Hours are Monday-Friday 9am – 5.15pm, Saturday Mornings on a rota basis – 9am – 12 noon (or 1pm on fine sale weekends), Sunday viewing 2pm – 4pm, four times a year
• Holiday 20 days plus bank holidays and the company usually gives some additional days over the Christmas period
• Pension after 3 months with the company
