Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a successful Senior Jewellery Specialist to join a well established Auction House as Head of Department.
You will be responsible for the development of the well-established jewellery sales, selling Fine Jewellery and Watches. Duties will include running the department, developing the client base and acting as senior and key representative of the team in London and Regionally. You may be predominantly based in London, or the main saleroom in the Home Counties and some travel between the two will be required.
Duties to include:
- Agreeing the department strategy and sale calendar with the board
- Managing the team (currently 3 direct reports)
- Business Developing and Consigning for sales.
- Valuing fine and costume jewellery
- Meeting, building and maintaining relationships with vendors and buyers as a senior figurehead
- Booking appointments in and out of the office
- Undertaking insurance, probate and market appraisals
- Occasional weekend work is required
- Taking an active role on viewing days
- Taking an active role on auction days

Job requirements
- FGA and DGA qualified
- Auctioneering skills not essential
