Job description:

We are seeking an Operations Manager to join a forward thinking business in the coin industry. The client is an innovation leader within the coin industry—an ambitious, fast-growing and technology focused business with ambitions to revolutionise the collectibles industry.

How will you fit into the bigger picture?

As the company has grown their operations have become more demanding from an organisational point of view—made further complicated by:

  • Introduction of new products and services
  • Home working

The new Head of Operations will come in to set up new systems and processes to deliver efficiencies and consistency across the company’s entire product and service offering. This includes, but will not always be limited to

  • Online auctions
  • Direct to consumer E-commerce retail
  • Investment sales
  • Authentication and grading

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company.
  • Handle all operational high-level escalations. Troubleshoot and problem solve, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the relationship with shipping partners, warehouses etc.
  • Ensure product releases are covered from an operations perspective – planning, launches, training internal and external, rollout to completion etc.
  • Ensure all defects and problems relating to the products and services are recorded accordingly.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure the tech support – availability of support and quality of support is up to standard.
  • Draft, proof and approve marketing materials.
  • Create and continuously evaluate team. Train and coach team members to ensure workflows and procedures are followed. Look for ways to optimise existing workflows to make team members more productive and efficient and implementing them.
  • Create and develop contingency plans for operational procedures.
  • Improve employee engagement, communicate direction and goals, provide regular performance feedback. Manage the team to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Meet requirements for ad-hoc requests.
  • Participate in other projects and tasks as assigned by the CEO and Co-Founder.
  • Ensure effective implementation of new processes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Attention to detail and drive for perfection.
  • Track record in the fields of e-commerce, operations or auctions.
  • Experience working with high value or luxury goods.
  • Proven working experience in management roles.
  • Excellent client facing and internal communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task – manage day to day tasks as well as additional projects and ad hoc requests remaining calm and focused in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good knowledge of customer service.
  • Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced and highly ambitious company.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and committed to seeing tasks through to completion.
