Our client, a renowned international artist studio, is seeking an experienced Head of Production & Special Projects to lead the planning and delivery of ambitious artworks, large-scale installations, and international exhibitions.
This is a senior role for a highly organised, detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment. You’ll work closely with the artist, studio manager, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest artistic and technical standards.
Hands on experience of working with a variety of materials and production techniques is essential, along with project management skills.
This is a 90% role based in the studio. (10% of working time will be taken as a full day off every second Friday).
Key responsibilities include:

Managing artwork production, installations, and special projects worldwide

Overseeing budgets, schedules, logistics, and international transport

Leading and coordinating a team of studio technicians

Liaising with galleries, commissioners, and external producers

Supervising in-house fabrication and art handling

Supporting contracts, negotiations, and public art applications
We’re looking for:

Proven project management experience in an artist studio, gallery, or institution

Strong technical knowledge of production processes and large-scale installations

Excellent multitasking, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Fluency in English and German (French is a plus)

Proficiency with SketchUp (or similar), Photoshop, InDesign, Excel

Willingness to travel internationally and work flexibly
