An international contemporary gallery is looking for an Image Archivist for their London gallery.
The image archivist is responsible for the daily organisation and update of the global digital image database in a meticulous manner and following gallery guidelines and specifications.
You will be required to edit and colour correct images and create 3D layouts towards the planning of exhibitions. You will produce and distribute high quality images on demand, both digitally and printed, to the sales team and directors. The image archivist will report to the Head of Archives and assist with exhibitions and art fairs in London and European galleries, press requests and approvals for image use.
This is a highly demanding sales focused role in a commercial gallery environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask, work both independently and collaboratively, with superb communication and organization skills, and an eye for detail.
Essential skills:
- Advanced level and proven record of image editing and colour correction in Adobe Photoshop CC.
- Confidence and good working practical knowledge of Adobe Bridge, InDesign,
- Acrobat, Microsfot office, DAMS and SKetchUp
- PC proficiency
Requirements
- Solid experience of working with digital images in an arts related environment, photo agencies or publishing industry.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at any given time whilst always bearing in mind the importance of prioritising and keeping to deadlines.
- Knowledge of artist’s copyright and image rights preferred
- Willingness to work longer hours when necessary and under your own initiative in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently and able to recognize and prioritise what’s most important under pressure
- Previous commercial gallery exposure highly advantageous
This is a Tuesday to Saturday role. 10am – 6pm.
