Jewellery & Watch Valuer, Established Regional Auction House

Our client, an established Regional Auction House, is looking for proactive Jewellery and Watch Valuer to join their small but dynamic team in their London office. This role will be responsible for valuing, and consigning both jewellery and watches.

Tasks:

• Provide valuations for customers in both a walk-in and online capacity, with a view to consign items to auction
• Attending external appointments for off-site valuations and events
• Carry out probate valuations
• Work closely with the Jewellery and Watch departments to ensure the auction deadlines are met
• Work closely with the Business Development team to identify and cultivate new business
• Liaise with the marketing team, providing insight on marketable content for consigned items
• Provide assistance to consignors and potential buyers, in person, by telephone or email
• Assist with viewing and sale days (in London and Birmingham), including telephone bidding if needed.
• Assist with promotional events both at the London Office and within the London area

Profile:

• Experience of working in a fast paced environment
• Proven experience valuing Jewellery and watches (or just one discipline)
• A broad knowledge of Jewellery and Watches (or just one discipline)
• An understanding or experience of the evolving auction market
• Willingness to conduct research
• Enthusiasm for attending networking events
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A positive, can-do attitude – be approachable and enthusiastic
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team
• Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
• Show willingness to learn and go the extra mile
