A leading regional Auction House is looking for a Jewellery Assistant and Cataloguer, testing precious metals and describing items ready for the auction catalogue, in a vibrant and exciting jewellery department in one of the country’s leading regional auction houses, based in Essex, roughly 30 miles from London and within walking distance from a train station
Prior cataloguing experience in a jewellers or pawn brokers is essential, as is having a strong ability to assess jewellery with good research skills. Gemology qualifications are an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Test precious metals and gemstones
- Cataloguing jewellery for sale
- Writing condition reports
- Organising photography
- Assisting with saleroom preparation and lotting up for sale
- Working closely with the team to understand customer drivers and help maintain an industry leading service
