Jewellery Specialist, Auction House

We have an exciting opportunity for a successful Jewellery Specialist to join an established Auction House with multiple specialist departments and a busy sales calendar.

Alongside the Head of Department you will be responsible for the development of the well-established jewellery sales, selling Fine Jewellery and Watches. Your duties will include valuing and cataloguing jewellery and also developing the client base.

Duties to include:

• Valuing fine and costume jewellery
• Consigning for sales
• Booking appointments in and out of the office
• Undertaking insurance, probate and market appraisals
• Occasional weekend work is required
• Taking an active role on viewing days
• Taking an active role on auction days
• Meeting, building and maintaining relationships with vendors and buyers alike

• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Fantastic teamwork and independent working skills
• Communication skills both internally and externally
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suites and numerical skills
• A can do, flexible attitude

Job requirements:

• FGA and DGA qualified is preferred
• Auctioneering skills not essential
