Jewellery Specialist, Regional Auction House

Our client, a regional auction house in the West Country, is seeking a Jewellery Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cataloguing and the production of condition reports, as well as valuing and consigning where appropriate, and will be working closely with the Head of Department. The salary for this role is commensurate with experience, and the working hours are 09:00-17:30.

Responsibilities:

• Cataloguing Jewellery
• Production of condition reports
• Providing valuations
• Attend and participate in auctions, viewings and appointments with clients and general liaising with clients

Requirements:

• Excellent attention to detail is essential
• Experience in a similar role within an auction house is essential
• An ability to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload in order to meet deadlines is essential
• An ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative is essential
• Computer literacy is essential
• A relevant jewellery qualification (GIA G.G. or FGA) is essential
• Business getting experience, and the ability to engage with new and existing clients at all levels, is preferred
• Auctioneering experience is preferred
• Driving licence is preferred, but not essential if willing to learn quickly
