Job description:

An art tech start up is looking for an experienced arts marketing person to join their expanding team. Working closely with the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for the day to day execution of marketing activities, including, but not limited to, campaigns, content and collateral creation, PR, special projects, and other tasks as needed. As an early stage start-up, the scope of your role may change quickly, and you may be asked to help in other areas of the business on occasion.

The client is looking for someone who is interested in learning about all aspects of integrated marketing, and is keen to work with their agencies and specialists to support all their channels as they develop them.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure email content is integrated with the wider marketing and comms plan including organic and boosted social content, PR, web
  • Create engaging customer emails driving web and exhibition visits, app downloads, brand awareness, and engagement including newsletter updates for the galleries (both current clients and prospects)
  • Create branded email assets yourself where possible, liaising with external designers
  • Managing the CRM system & develop data capture opportunities
  • Creation and execution of content calendar including website content and social media
  • Liaising with galleries, institutions, partners and external content providers
  • Engaging with followers and building the profile and strength of associated social profiles
  • Gathering and creating assets as needed, including simple design within brand guidelines
  • Implementing simple paid social plans where required
  • Supporting performance marketing / external suppliers where required
  • Social and content effectiveness

  • Supporting the external PR agency
  • Supporting the account management team

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of marketing, online advertising, SEO and an eye for design
  • Experience in IT systems, excel, word, CRM systems (e.g. Active Campaign or similar), social media platforms, Marketing automation, Photoshop or Canva, Google
  • Understanding of marketing fundamentals, customer personas, segmentation, a growth mindset, and the motivation to keep learning more about marketing
  • Adaptable and flexible; able to respond positively to the changing demands of a dynamic organisation with a small team
  • Passion for art, and the role technology can play in supporting artists and galleries
  • Strong copywriting ability, including understanding of brand voice
  • Understanding and flair for social media use
  • Understanding of content marketing
  • Strong numeracy skills – comfortable with Excel or google sheets
  • Ability to interpret analytics in terms of customer behaviour
  • Ability to create marketing reports and presentations in well presented impactful format
  • Experience of working in a gallery, museum, art fair or visitor attraction setting is desirable
