Job description:
A new gallery, opening in London is looking for an experienced Media Relations person to join their team. The role is based 100% in the office, with a start date of early August.
Key Responsibilities:
Working under the Corporate Communications Director, the Media Relations Specialist is responsible for the following duties:
- Communication of the gallery’s exhibition and fair activities across all channels
- Executing the gallery’s social media strategy, creating social media content, and regularly posting from the accounts, as well as responding to comments and questions
- Sharing news from the gallery and artists through newsletters
- Monitoring and compiling news from the press
- Conducting artist videos, interviews and photo shoot operations
- Supporting the development of new projects to increase interaction
- Inviting the Culture and Art press and professionals to exhibitions and fairs, maintaining ongoing relations
- Assisting in getting gallery activities featured in domestic and international print and digital media
- Designing digital materials related to exhibitions and fairs, overseeing printing and other related processes
- Assisting in the control and development processes of the website; managing web page exhibition entries
- Supporting the execution of business processes with cooperating agencies
- Organizing invitation events for artists participating in exhibitions and fairs
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level
- Proficient in English
- Must have relevant experience in a similar position
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, Adobe, Asana, Indesign, Google Workspace at a proficient level
- Possess English writing, editing and oral communication skills
- Effective use of web and social media tools
- Good communication skills
- Should be responsible, prone to teamwork, and have time management skills
- No travel restrictions
