Job description:

Our client is looking for an Office Manager to join the team in London. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with several years’ experience working for an auction house with a clear understanding and working knowledge of back-office processes. The Office Manager will join a small and busy team as the lynch pin pulling everything together.

The responsibilities are varied and will include:

  • Coordination of company event booking & advertising (valuation days, auctions etc)
  • Proof reading of auction catalogue
  • Verification of client commission rates
  • Auction administration including customer registration, bid entry, hammer price entry
  • Assisting with telephone bidding
  • Management of Saleroom Notices
  • Responsible for arrangement of auction logistics
  • Administration of auctions for online portals
  • Raising of client invoices and administration of payments
  • Responsibility for organising postage of general / auction items
  • Releasing property post auction (sold / unsold)
  • Assisting with entry of supplier invoices into QuickBooks
  • Generation of consigner statements and payment of proceeds post auction
  • Management of customer appointment diary
  • Co-ordinating all unsolds from auction, re-entering into next auction or RTC
  • Stock management (co-ordinating with saleroom manager)
  • Provision of general office administrative support
  • Assisting with telephone enquiries
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety policy
  • Management of office logistics and subcontractors

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and online bidding is desirable. Some office management would be advantageous.
