Job description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, Operations & Office Manager with excellent client service skills to oversee operations for an Auction House office. Responsible for running daily operations, including consignment pick-ups, receiving and entering property, packing and shipping of consignments sent to the USA, referring clients to specialists in the various departments, and assisting otherwise as needed. The candidate must be driven, flexible, and have excellent communication and organisational skills to fulfil this role. 


  • Communicating shipping updates with the national and international the sales team
  • Answer enquiries via email and phone;
  • Support consignment directors as needed
  • Keeping up to date with the current progress of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Ensure any consignments that come through the office are accurately processed
  • Pack and ship consigned property to other Heritage offices
  • Comply with office and property security requirements
  • Assist with local highlights previews, appraisal days, and other events as needed (assist with event logistics such as catering, supplies, furniture rentals)
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekend hours when necessary
  • Generating relevant customs documentation for shippers worldwide
  • Provide Excellent customer service

Sills and Experience required:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Art Handling and/or auction experience preferred
  • Have knowledge of Import/Export shipping documentation and terminology
  • Very high level of organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent client service skills; ability to remain calm under pressure
