We are working with a contemporary gallery in London for find a Photography & Digital Resources Technician to take the lead in producing all digital imaging and video the gallery requires. This is a creative role with photography of 2D / 3D artworks, and installation images at its heart, as well as additional responsibilities for post production, video and linking into the administration of online content for the gallery’s website and private online viewing platforms.
Candidates will have relevant qualifications and experience in photography and video, reflected in a portfolio of their work. Experience using commercial lighting and retouching to a high standard is essential. They be practical, creatively minded and passionate about contemporary art with the ability and interest to speak to artists about their work.
An interest in producing appropriate online content and managing websites is advantageous, but not an essential.
This could be either a part time (3 days a week) or a full time role.
Photography:
- Digital photographing of 2D, 3D artworks and installation images
- Retouching and post production of images
- Archiving images in suitable formats
- Linking artworks to database inventory
Video:
- Short film production – exhibition walkthrough, artwork presentation/overview
- Filming and compiling artist interview/documentary footage
- Documenting/editing artist talks
- Video editing and post production
Website:
- Assisting with website administration: uploading content and helping to create exhibition pages and, private (online) viewing rooms
Skills and experience:
- Digital editing software: Photoshop, Lightroom and Adobe Premiere etc.
- Digital photography and videography
- Experience with studio lighting
- Portfolio of work
