We are recruiting for an experienced Pictures Specialist for a leading independent global art advisory and valuations group. Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Valuations, the role is responsible for undertaking valuations of Pictures in and around London and the home counties, as well as nationally and internationally, as required. The consistent delivery of a highly professional and efficient client service is essential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working independently and/or as part of a valuations team to undertake the cataloguing and valuations of fine art on behalf of private clients, family offices, lawyers and insurance brokers
- To undertake pricing research, assess condition and upload cataloguing and object data information onto a bespoke valuations system
- To generate fully illustrated valuation reports
- To maintain and develop trusting relationships with peers and colleagues
- To keep up to date with art market fluctuations
- To assist colleagues in associated group companies with the valuation and cataloguing of fine art as and when required
Skills and Requirements:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Proven experience and knowledge of pictures from Old Master to Contemporary
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Outstanding written and spoken communications skills
- Driven with a positive and can-do attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload in order to minimise pressure points, meet deadlines and demonstrate exceptional time-management skills
