An Artist’s Studio in London seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Studio Production Assistant.

We are looking for a multi-talented person to support studio activities. This one-year fixed-term position requires attention to detail, proven organisational skills, diplomacy, and excellent communication skills; you will be the first point of contact for the artist, suppliers, and representatives.

Candidates must be self-starting, flexible and able to prioritise responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have a proactive mindset. The candidate must also demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of diverse materials. Previous production experience is mandatory; we are looking for someone interested in working in a faced-paced creative environment, capable, patient and an innate self-starter.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day activity of the Studio.
  • Ensuring smooth communication between the artist and all internal and external counterparts.
  • Managing the artist’s diary and calendars, scheduling appointments, making reservations, and booking travel.
  • Liaising with curators, institutions, artists’ galleries, and representatives.
  • Managing communications related to production.
  • Assisting project procurement and looking after general purchasing.
  • Coordinating with suppliers.
  • Developing programs and project schedules.
  • Overseeing deliveries and deadlines – shipping and customs.
  • Maintaining a database and archives and records.
  • Researching and producing documents with relevant information related to production.
  • Reconciling receipts and invoices and compiling budgets.
  • Maintaining supplies of materials.
  • Organisation and upkeep of the studio.

Job Requirements

  • Certified experience in a similar role.
  • Flexible schedule of 3 days in the week.
  • Full clean driver’s license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Apple applications, including Outlook, Word, PP and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Additional languages are desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a progressive learner, organised, detail-oriented, and professional.
  • Must be flexible, resourceful, and demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Approachable, diplomatic and adaptable to changing demands and deadlines.
  • Able to build rapport, trust and excellent working relationships with all colleagues in a multicultural, multinational work environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
