Job description:

Our client, an international logistics provider for leading artists, galleries, museums, auction houses, collectors and public and private institutions worldwide, is seeking a Project Manager to join a growing team in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will assist with the managing, coordination, scheduling and administration of projects from the planning stages through to completion, working with clients, suppliers and colleagues to help ensure the smooth running and success of the department and the business. The project department consists of 10 Project Managers and Coordinators, many of whom combine office and on-site working. It is expected that in this role the Project Manager will offer predominantly office-based support within the project department.

Responsibilities within Project Department:

  • Project management on a breadth of major domestic and international projects
  • Providing in-depth project management, planning, scheduling, budgeting, delivering and communicating a full project overview.
  • Will require working with multiple stakeholders and external contractors/agencies such as structural engineers, planning departments, suppliers etc. to guide projects from inception to completion
  • Working on a range of projects (short-, medium- and long-term), independently and alongside other Project Managers, ensuring seamless communication, coordination and administration throughout the process, to ensure the exceptional delivery of fine art services.
  • Running own projects: liaising with clients, estimating, allocating resources, coordinating between departments, preparing job sheets, communication with technicians working on each job, invoicing, and delivering exceptional customer service and client liaison
  • Liaison with public institutions on museum sector jobs, including communication with museum clients, lenders, developing schedules and demonstrating an understanding of industry specific requirements relating to work in the public sector

The successful candidate will:

  • Be highly organised, with exceptional administration, communication and time-management skills
  • Bring a level of technical knowledge/understanding of artwork installation, with a particular emphasis on sculpture
  • Be comfortable working as part of a team, communicating effectively with office, warehouse, and technical staff alike
  • Provide exceptional client liaison, building and maintaining client relationships to provide a premium service and attain new business, whilst handling client information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism
  • Be an ambassador and champion of the company
  • Provide support, advice and share expertise with Project Coordinators and the technical team
  • Keep full and detailed digital and paper filing for all jobs
  • Work closely with company Transport, Shipping, Customs, Warehouse and Packing departments to ensure seamless internal communication across all aspects of projects and the business
  • Continually assess and make suggestions on company processes to maximise efficiency
