Job description:

On behalf of a market leading international auction house we are looking for a Regional Manager to cover the North West of England. The North West is an important region for the company and has sourced important lots for auctions. The role of Regional Manager is critical to the success of the region as it provides leadership and direction locally, as well as being a conduit between the UK Regional Director and the London Management Team. A thorough understanding of the whole auction process is vital together with managerial skills to lead the team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s resources (human, physical and financial) within the North West Region
  • Achieve and drive to exceed agreed budgeted results
  • Have proven general or specialist valuer’s knowledge
  • Using exceptional client management skills, be able to build strong and lasting relationships which ultimately translates to securing business
  • Ensure the smooth running of the operations within the North West, deploying staff where necessary
  • Instigate business getting initiatives, marketing and events within the region and ensure their successful implementation
  • Control all aspects of the profit and loss account for the region
  • Assist the UK Regional Director in formulating policy, and work with them as part of the regional management team
  • Ensure the region adheres to all company policies
  • Responsible for Health and Safety within the region
  • Manage all employee matters in collaboration with the People Team in London including recruitment, employment of part-time and casual staff, conduct annual appraisals and handle any employment relations matters
  • Ensure the region provides the best possible client service

In addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by your Manager.

Required Skills:

  • Efficient and clear thinking, able to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the region (lease car provided if required)
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Hold an understanding of basic financial concepts (accounts, P&L etc)
