Our client, an International Design Gallery, is looking for a Registrar and Logistics Manager to join the team. The gallery is about to embark on an exciting move to a significant new space in Mayfair and is looking for a friendly and hardworking person to undertake a Registration and Logistics Manager role within the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-paced, international gallery and be a part of the busy (but small) gallery team.

The Registrar will liaise with artists, clients and colleagues to ensure the expedient, correct and safe processing and shipping of all artworks on sale at the gallery.

Responsibilities:

  • Arranging domestic deliveries and international export / import of all artworks for exhibitions and art fairs
  • Obtaining shipping quotes and overseeing domestic and international shipping of sold artworks, liaising with clients throughout the process
  • Administration of Anti Money Laundering/KYC requests
  • Technician assistance during art fair and exhibition installations
  • Manage the weekly tasks and schedule of the part time technician
  • Registration of new artworks into the database and accurate inventory management of all artworks
  • Undertaking of physical quality assurance, condition reporting and documentary photography of artworks
  • Coordination of professional photography of new artworks and recently framed artworks
  • Liaison and management of framing when required
  • Collections care management of artworks on release including safe handling and storage as required
  • Process invoices related to above jobs in collaboration with Accounts team

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in an art shipping role
  • Team player and ability to handle a fast-paced, working environment
  • Detail oriented, methodical and highly organised
  • Ability to problems solve and prioritise multiple project and deadlines
  • Familiar with best practices of handling and packing fine art and objects
  • Comfortable corresponding with clients and upholding the highest standards of service
  • Familiar with ArtLogic, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Excel (Asana a plus!)
