Registrar, contemporary gallery

A contemporary gallery in Tokyo seeks a full-time experienced Registrar to join their current team and support the gallery’s global operations. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English & Japanese, detail-oriented, have strong organizational and multitasking skills, and be able to work well in a dynamic, multi-location environment. This person will work closely with the entire team in Tokyo and collaborate regularly with the Logistics and Operations team in Los Angeles

REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of FileMaker Pro / Artbase, Artlogic, InDesign, Photoshop, Google Workspace, Mac OSX, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
• Self motivated, trustworthy and responsible
• Bachelor’s degree
• Exceptional written and communication skills in English and Japanese, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Candidate must be extremely organized, detail-oriented and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills with ability to work independently and manage varied deadlines in a fast-pace environment
• Ideal candidate is open-minded and able to work well in a fast paced, high-pressure environment, as well as independently and efficiently on their own
• Prior experience working in a contemporary art gallery, museum, or artist’s studio is strongly preferred
• Strong professional ethics, discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment
