Sales & Distribution Manager, Contemporary Gallery

An internationally renowned contemporary gallery is looking for a Sales and Distribution Manager to join their retail department. This essential role is responsible for the effective and sustainable distribution, circulation and sales of gallery publications and will act as the primary liaison for distributors and retailers.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 

• Developing and executing the sales and distribution strategy for the gallery’s book programme with agreed KPIs and objectives
• Agreeing target audiences, networks and distribution channels with internal stakeholders to ensure effective global circulation of all titles
• Maximising targeted sales and audiences of new print publications and retention of existing subscriptions
• Set up, negotiate and oversee global distribution contracts across multiple regions
• Oversee internal distribution & placement
• Ensuring Publications are present in agreed locations in a timely fashion
• Responsible for Commercial oversight of sales and distribution
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient management of stock / inventory
• Monitor book inventory: out of print titles, and suggest special promotions in collaboration with Marketing and Retail
• Producing sales and revenue reports
• Developing strategy for Art Book Fair participation with Marketing and Retail
• Identifying new markets and opportunities for existing and new titles
• Developing strategies to how best to enter new territories and markets
• Occasional travel to art/book fairs and events as required
• Work with the legal team on distributor and retailer contracts
