Job description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales person to join a new gallery opening in London. This is a full time role, based 100% in the gallery, with a start date of early August.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively working on the sale of inventory
  • Planning sales strategies by closely collaborating with gallery managers;  executing the sales program;  valuating works of art
  • Handling sales contracts, invoices, and preparation of certificates
  • Providing data updates of the sold artwork via ArtLogic
  • Managing collector relations
  • Working to include the works of artists in museum/non-profit institution collections
  • Developing the corporate client portfolio
  • Visiting art fairs to  enhance customer relationships and meet new contacts
  • Researching new platforms for the sale of works
  • Creating effective digital advertising campaigns to increase awareness and achieve visitor targets; supporting media work for marketing
  • Establishing brand partnerships
  • Selecting and managing assistants to support sales operations
  • Conducting annual strategy and budget meetings

Person specification:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Proficient in English
  • Must have relevant experience in a similar position
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the practice and biography of artists
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Adobe, Asana, ArtLogic, Sketch Up, Indesign, Google Workspace programs at a proficient level
  • Good communication skills
  • Should be responsible, prone to teamwork, have team management skills and developed persuasion skills
  • Developed sales skills
  • No travel restrictions
