A world-renowned illustrated publisher is looking for a Head of Marketing with a passion for illustrated non-fiction and a track record of sales-driving marketing campaigns.

With titles across ‎all areas of visual creativity – the arts, architecture, design, photography, fashion, film and music – as well as history, archaeology, popular culture and children’s non-fiction, this role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketer to work across a diverse list, manage a team and play an essential role in implementing the brand strategy and positioning.

The role:

  • Devising and delivering creative marketing campaigns for lead titles across all book categories, and reporting the effectiveness of these campaigns
  • Assisting with the delivery of the strategic vision for the companies online presence, including overseeing the creation of content and email marketing, SEO, social media, PPC and analytic
  • Growing our website traffic and expanding our online communities
  • Proactively pursuing partnerships with like-minded brands to promote key titles and the brand to new audiences
  • Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders on your marketing campaigns and other projects
  • Briefing artwork for print and online adverts and assets
  • Overseeing the creation of trade marketing materials and catalogues
  • Collaborating with the sales team on retail marketing ideas
  • Liaising with the US and Australian marketing teams on campaigns and relevant brand initiatives
  • Managing a team of three marketers in producing high quality work and delivering the strategy
  • Building an in-depth understanding of audiences and competitor activity to plan and inform brand activities and priorities

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Solid experience in a marketing role in publishing or the cultural sector
  • An excellent track record in digital growth marketing, with specific experience of email, SEO, social and PPC
  • Innovative strategist with the ability to plan campaigns on a small budget
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and set deadlines for self and others
  • Proven experience of working with external brands and organisations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence
  • Good time management skills
  • We’re looking for someone with experience either in book publishing with a strong interest in the visual arts, or in the arts with a strong interest in books
