Job description:

Our client, a world renowned Auction House, is seeking a Senior Proposals Writer to be responsible for producing persuasive and high-quality proposals that convince vendors to consign with the company. The Senior Writer will use their strong base of experience and network of relationships across the company to advise on the most complex proposals, often working with our most senior colleagues. The Senior Writer is expected to be a driver of excellence and a team contributor.

Key responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:

Writing and project management

  • Write and project manage proposals, presentations, agendas, letters, market reports, timelines, pitch props and myriad other tools for business-getters across all areas of the company
  • Work with senior executives and specialists to strategise, structure proposals, gather information, establish project timetables, and incorporate feedback
  • Take responsibility for the entire proposal process, from the briefing meeting to the final delivery/pitch meeting
  • Gather and interpret statistics to support company performance
  • Ensure all proposal promises are approved by the relevant internal stakeholders
  • Guide the design and production process, working with a graphic designer to achieve the appropriate style within the allocated budget and timeline
  • Proofread documents for team members

Content and innovation

  • Research new or up to date information for proposal texts
  • Help create solutions for lower-value business-getting efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

The candidate:

  • Educated to undergraduate degree level or possess demonstrable relevant experience
  • Expert writing skills, including excellent grammar
  • Strong analytical skills, able to use information strategically/creatively to craft original arguments
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High-level of knowledge and interest in the auction/art market
  • Able to work under extremely tight deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to take initiative where limited standardisation exists
  • Motivated, efficient, proactive and a great team player
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in MAC, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Photoshop
