Senior Valuer & Auctioneer, Regional Auction House

Our client, a family-owned Auction House in Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Senior Valuer and Auctioneer to join their team. The Auction House holds weekly general sales and a variety specialist sales throughout the year, and the successful candidate will need to have the keen eye of the Generalist for day-to-day items, as well as the ability to recognise rare and unique items of special value as and when they appear. The client will consider a part-time arrangement for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Client valuations in-house and when visiting properties for auction, insurance, and probate purposes
• Professional written valuations, cataloguing of items for the quarterly antiques and interiors auctions, and the creation of condition reports
• Auctioneering, both from the rostrum and online
• Dealing with clients pre- and post-sale
• Staff management

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Substantial experience valuing, cataloguing & auctioneering
• Driving essential
• Computer literacy essential
• Good knowledge of Pictures and Furniture desirable
