Shipping Specialist, Auction House

A London leading specialist auctioneers and valuers is seeking a full time Shipping Specialist to join their busy in-house post room. Arranging and overseeing the despatch of auction lots to the UK and across the world, you will be involved in all stages of the shipping and packing process.

Key responsibilities include:

• Arranging domestic and international shipments and all associated logistics
• Keeping up to date with the latest regulations and guidelines
• Preparing shipping quotes and explaining postage options to clients and departments
• Ensuring timely packing of all shipments to a high standard
• Communicating with shippers and customs and proactively dealing with any queries
• Answering phone queries and emails relating to postage and packing
• Helping to number up sale lots, checking weights and dimensions of lots

Skills required:

• Familiar with packing methods for this sector, with excellent technical packing skills
• Knowledge of UK and international shipping related logistics and procedures
• Proven organisational ability to multi-task and prioritise workload in a fast paced environment
• Attention to detail
• Ability to problem solve
• Client focused with polite telephone manner and good written skills
• Experience in this sector would be advantageous
