UK Marketing Assistant, Art Fair

Job description:

Our client, an art fair in London, is looking for a UK Marketing Assistant to support the UK Marketing Manager working across multiple UK fairs and the online marketplace. This role is full time, 40 hours per week.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Social Media Management

  • Planning and managing our social media presence across all channels, responding to enquiries and working with galleries and artists to develop content

Email Communications

  • Planning and building email communications in Active Campaign to support the UK Marketing Manager’s wider fair and ecommerce marketing strategy

Partner Marketing

  • Executing grass roots marketing to raise awareness of the fair amongst key target audiences, including creating offer codes and providing promotional images, copy and/or print to partners as directed by the UK Marketing Manager


  • Resourcing images and content where necessary for the UK Marketing Manager to create social media content across all channels
  • Scheduling support in Hootsuite for organic social media posts
  • Email and social media graphic design using templates
  • Set up UTM tracked links for email and social campaigns as required


  • Gallery outreach to gather images and information to be used for PR
  • Image processing to include maintaining an online bank of images for PR use along with a captions database and record of image permissions
  • Maintain archive of digital press clippings, pre-fair photography and reports

Website Updates

  • Update UK website content, including fair pages, art previews and uploading of the programme
  • Uploading blog content to the site
  • Briefing any further website updates in Basecamp

Customer Insight and Research

  • Oversee the Fair Assistants or temporary staff onsite collection of surveys


  • Offer code creation, offer code spreadsheet management and ticket shop setup support
  • First point of contact for customer ticketing issues, escalating any issues to UK Marketing Manager
  • Update sales and revenue tracker pre-fair on a daily basis
  • Complete a post-fair ticket count where necessary

Office Administration

  • Organise file copies of printed materials for the office
  • Coordination of data processing and shredding post-fair

Person Specification:

Technical Skills/Experience

  • Archive and database management

  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Experience of one or more of the following systems desirable: Active Campaign, CMS, Magento, Photoshop, Hootsuite, Basecamp, Trello, SurveyGizmo

Art Experience

  • Passion for art
  • Experience of working in a gallery, museum, or visitor attraction setting is desirable
