Wine Specialist

On behalf of a leading auction house we are looking for an experienced Wine Specialist to join the team. This is a busy role that would involve, business development, cataloguing and valuing collections and playing a key role in the day to day running of the department. Responsibilities will include:-

• Develop business contacts and strategic opportunities, including developing auction and private sales strategies
• Identify and maintain relationships with all clients in the consignments and sale of wine and spirits
• Analyse and respond to incoming written, phone and photo enquiries to determine sale potential
• Conduct valuations both on-site and in clients homes/ premises
• Work alone and with colleagues to determine provenance, value, condition, and marketability of property
• Write and prepare catalogues
• Coordinate pre-sale exhibition set-up
• Work with colleagues to market the sale
• Participate on sale day – auctioneering skills welcome, but not necessary
• Participate in the full after-sales review

The successful candidates will ideally have auction house experience, but some one from retail or the trade would be considered.
