Our story
In 2011, our founders Julia and Nina each ran their own arts recruitment business. But when a client mistakenly invited them both to the same meeting, instead of sizing each other up they became best of friends! Five years later they combined their business to form DRAW – and the rest is history.
Our small, but perfectly formed, team of four has decades of experience from inside both the art and recruitment worlds. We listen to our clients’ needs carefully and take pride in our quietly focused, fuss-free approach to finding you the very best people for the job – every time.
Meet the team

Julia Henderson
Director (Associate CIPD)
Julia started DRAW Recruitment with Nina Langford in 2016. Having spent 20 years in senior positions within large Recruitment and Staffing Businesses, including as the CEO of Recruitment Solutions Group. Julia decided to leave the corporate world behind to start her own business. She launched her first Fine Art Recruitment Business more than a decade ago and has not looked back since. Julia was quickly able to build up a loyal client base amongst Auction Houses and Dealerships and now has an expansive network all over the world.
Julia has worked with many leading regional and international auction houses and dealerships to help secure the right talent to grow their teams. Julia really enjoys dealing with small and mid-sized businesses and uses her past commercial experience to help clients find people with the correct skills, experience, and personality to genuinely make a difference.
Julia has a BA (Hons) Commerce and is an Associate member of the CIPD.
When not at work Julia is most at home in the great outdoors. You can often find her out walking regardless of the weather!

Nina Langford
Director
Nina has worked in the art industry since 2001 and with that knowledge, she founded Art//Work Recruitment in 2013. In 2016, Nina merged her company with Drummond Reed Recruitment to form DRAW.
Nina’s primary focus is on mid and senior-level roles, particularly in the commercial gallery and arts communications side of the industry. She has a wealth of experience working at a variety of organisations, including a major museum, an art shipping company, an art fair, and several commercial galleries.
Originally Nina wanted to study Art at degree level but decided to enrol in a Business Studies degree course at Nottingham Trent University instead. Now, fortunately, her career choice combines the two!

Kate Thomson
Consultant
At DRAW Kate’s area of expertise is anything ‘behind the scenes’ in the art world. Her searches primarily focus on fine art shipping, registrars, operations, logistics, and technical roles, where her personal experience and first-hand knowledge of the industry enable her to find the right candidates for the job.
Kate has worked in many areas of the art industry, starting her career in collections care at a museum, then moving to a role at a leading Fine Art Shipping company where she worked for more than a decade. There she coordinated shipping and logistics for art fairs, contemporary galleries, and national museum exhibitions.
Kate has also worked for a blue-chip contemporary gallery leading a large logistics project and as Fair Manager for one of the most successful and internationally recognised art fairs in London.
