We have been catching up with Annabel Zarandi, an FGA Qualified Jewellery Specialist, about her role at Unbolted as Valuations Manager.

  • Where do you work ?

    Unbolted

  • What is your job title?

    Valuations Manager

  • What time did you wake up ? What are you usual working hours?

    7am. Working hours of 9am-6pm

  • What are your key tasks ?

Liaising with clients regarding their valuations, liaising with auction houses and specialists and conducting my own jewellery valuations

  • What was your career path to this role ?

I started off working for one of the major auction houses in their customer services team, and then progressed my way to their jewellery department

  • What are the best and worst things about your job ?

Every day is different, I see a real variety of items. We are also lucky to have very lovely clients. There really aren’t many negatives with my job, I suppose its never nice to have to explain to people that their items aren’t worth as much as they thought, but that’s the nature of the beast

  • What careers advice would you give to your 18 year old self with the benefit of hindsight?

Don’t be afraid to write and ask for work experience, its amazing how many companies really welcome this and I wish I would have done this more, especially during school and Uni holidays.

  • Have you had a secret job that is not on your CV ?
Yes! Working in my dads sandwich shop!
