Retail Associate, Concept Store

A concept store in Tokyo is looking for a Retail Associate who is a dynamic retail sales professional, with a confident and elegant approach to retail in a gallery-type retail setting, and a passion for exceptional art.

Associates are expected to tell the story of the gallery and the shop, and actively drive revenue using sophisticated sales techniques and gracious hospitality to sell retail merchandise, including publications, artist editions, design items and gifts in an elevated, luxury retail development.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Consistently provide a high level of thoughtful hospitality and professional, friendly and engaging service to customers.
• Charismatically and articulately work as ambassadors of the gallery.
• Handle transactions with accuracy, security and integrity.
• Ambitiously strive to meet and exceed shared KPIs and sales goals
• Maintain displays on The Shop floor, restock and ticket merchandise.
• Participate in retail inventory stock counts.
• Respond professionally and timeously to inquiries via phone and email.
• Support the fulfilment of E-commerce as needed.
• Coordinate with Manager & Assistant manager, as assigned, to complete requests of special guests, artists and partners.
• Maintain a high level of overall aesthetic, cleanliness and visual standards.

Desirable experience

• Experience in luxury retail, bookstores, art galleries/ museums, design, or the hospitality industry.
• Outstanding customer service, strong sales skills, and the ability to think creatively around customer service situations that result in positive outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills, an engaging personality.
• Professional presentation, in alignment with the company
• Receptiveness to new information, flexibility and adaptability.
• Appreciation of art, hospitality and design.
• Ability to work cohesively with team members and maintain a positive and professional manner.
