Junior Auctioneer & Cataloguer, Regional Auction House

Our client, a regional Auction House in Scotland, is seeking a Junior Auctioneer and Cataloguer to join their team. This role would suit somebody with previous Auction House experience and the ability to manage fortnightly general sales.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Dealing with pre-sale and post-sale enquiries
• Arranging and managing valuation days
• Managing fortnightly general sales
• Cataloguing and lotting-up items for sale
• Producing of condition reports
• Attend and participate in auctions and viewings
• Auctioneering as and when appropriate
• Post-sale administration
• In time, to contribute to valuations for auction, probate and insurance purposes

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role within an auction house
• Excellent attention to detail
• An ability to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload in order to meet deadlines is essential
• An ability to pack and lift heavy boxes and furniture is essential
• Computer literacy is essential
• The ability to drive is essential
• Auctioneering experience is preferred
• An ability to perform valuations for probate and insurance purposes is preferred
