We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Philanthropy Manager to join the Development team at an Arts Charity in London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a personable, creative and commercially minded fundraiser with a strong interest in contemporary art to play a key role in growing philanthropic income and developing long-term relationships with donors, patrons and supporters.
Working closely with the Development Director and Director, you will be responsible for developing new donor relationships, managing and growing the Supporters’ Scheme, supporting fundraising campaigns and delivering an engaging programme of events.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate and secure new donors and philanthropic supporters.
- Manage and grow the Supporters’ Scheme.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with donors and patrons through excellent stewardship.
- Prepare compelling and tailored fundraising approaches and proposals.
- Support the Development Director, Director, Council and Trustees in delivering the fundraising strategy and income targets.
- Plan and deliver exclusive supporter events, including studio visits, private dinners and collection tours.
- Represent the organisation at contemporary art and cultural events, developing relationships with collectors, patrons and institutions.
- Manage supporter records, donations, Gift Aid and fundraising administration.
- Monitor fundraising targets, expenditure and financial reporting.
You will have:
- Proven experience in fundraising, individual giving and/or philanthropic development.
- A strong track record of developing relationships with donors, benefactors or philanthropists.
- Experience delivering successful fundraising campaigns and events.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, Trustees and high-level external contacts.
- Good IT and database skills, with an understanding of fundraising regulations and data protection.
- A strong interest in contemporary art and visual culture, with knowledge of the London art world.
