We are partnering with an ambitious, London-based auction house, established in 2024, now entering an exciting phase of growth. With a rapidly expanding team and an impressive Zone 2 premises, the business is building out new specialist departments and is seeking a Wristwatch Specialist to lead and shape this category.

This is a rare chance to build a Watches department from the ground up within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing the category, driving business growth, and positioning the department as a market leader.

We are looking for a commercially minded specialist with deep expertise in wristwatches, ideally gained within the auction sector, who combines technical knowledge with strong client development and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and grow the Watches department, including developing a strong and sustainable client base
  • Lead valuations and appraisals with authority, accuracy, and market insight
  • Manage the full auction lifecycle: sourcing consignments, cataloguing, marketing, and sale execution – time table to be agreed.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement effective sales strategies across live and online auctions
  • Take ownership of departmental performance, including budgeting and revenue generation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consignors, collectors, and key industry stakeholders

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience in wristwatches, ideally within the auction industry
  • Proven track record in business development and revenue generation
  • Strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
  • Able to operate both independently and as part of a leadership team
  • Experience with online auction platforms is advantageous
