Consignment Director : Technology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced technology specialist to lead the growth of a specialist Technology department within a leading international auction house. This role focuses on sourcing and securing high-value consignments of collectible and historically significant technology, including vintage Apple products, early personal computers, gaming hardware, telecommunications devices, cameras, audio equipment, prototypes, rare software and other important consumer electronics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing client relationships, identifying and evaluating significant technology collections, negotiating consignments, overseeing catalogue production, and working closely with marketing and specialist teams to maximise sales. They will also represent the business at industry events, expand the collector and consignor network, and contribute to the strategic growth of the department.
Applicants should have significant experience within collectible technology, consumer electronics, auctions, museums, appraisals or a related specialist field, together with an in-depth knowledge of technology history, authentication, provenance and current collector market trends. Strong business development, networking, negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Frequent travel will be required.
